How the Cloud can Improve Business Productivity

Written by Dan Radak, Updated on October 20, 2014

From the time when computers used to take whole rooms and were extremely prone to overheating to the miniaturized world of IT today, we have witnesses such a fast and progress of technology, with an unprecedented penetration of one type of human work into every home and every life. Only people living in extremely detached conditions, on the margins of today’s civilization are excluded from the ongoing IT-rule. Since it is almost impossible to imagine a world without information technology, the only solution we have is aligning towards it and see what we can get for ourselves from it. If you run a business, you cannot function properly without computers, programs and various kinds of software. But the last few years saw the emergence of another incredible feature – the cloud, i.e. online concept that serves as a global hard disk and service provider. It can be incredibly useful for every business, which is why every business owner and CEO must be informed on its positive features.

No download, no data scattering

One of many advantages of the cloud lies in the fact that you do not have to download or install applications and software items on your personal computer. Instead of that, cloud service providers give you the opportunity to use it as a resource for all the tasks for which you are currently using the installed software that you have. Thanks to this option, you do not have to pay for licenses of different programs and software features. You only have to choose the right cloud service provider and decide for how long you would like to choose a certain application, which then serves as an installed program. Everything is online and you simply pay for what you use. It can be paid on a weekly, monthly or yearly basis. This kind of using software features is called software as a service.

Approachability and scalability

The cloud also offers a wide range of detailed possibilities for every user. If this is the age of personalization and customization, then the cloud is the supreme ruler of this concept. Every cloud user can state his or her wishes and business needs and the cloud provider they choose will most probably be able to meet their requirements. The level to which the cloud it adaptable and scalable is unparalleled in the development of the information technology field of human work. You can travel to Siberia or go to Buenos Aires or even set off for a swim with sharks in Micronesia, but one thing is unquestionable –approachability and usefulness of the cloud. The only precondition for using the data on the cloud is a reliable Internet connection.
Although the future is always uncertain and blurry, one thing is definite – it is floating on the cloud, which is carrying our knowledge and information about the whole human kind. In 1977, music by Ludwig van Beethoven was sent to space on one of the Voyagers to stay there for future generations. The cloud is a similar concept, which could serve as an investment for the future and a storage place for everything we would like to pass on to our descendants.
